In addition, labs help clarify which concerns you should prioritize so that we can not only work preventatively, but proactively on your health.

Zyto Scans:

Zyto technology is an amazing tool that we can use in conjunction with lab testing to help guide our treatment plans with more precision. It tests for what areas or organs are most stressed at that time and for things that would bring your body back into balance- including positive affirmations, specific supplements and treatments.

Every single thing has a frequency, from a particular food, to a pill, to even words we tell ourselves and others. The scanner tests your body’s response to that frequency so that we can bring balance to your body, mind and spirit.

The Foundations Scan costs $150 and this tests for the main organ systems, emotions and toxins that are currently being stressed in your body. It also tests for remedies to these stressors by providing balancers, such as positive affirmations, supplement recommendations and foods for wellness. The Foods for Wellness can help us customize your diet to add more positive foods and avoid the negative foods for your body's needs.

Lab Hours:

For your convenience, Nourish offers on-site lab services. Blood draws are scheduled Monday-Friday from 7:30am-2:30pm at Nourish Medical Center. For patients that live out of the area, we can provide lab requisition forms for most of the labs to be drawn at your local blood draw center. For patients that are paying out-of-pocket, you can discuss with our phlebotomist which lab company may be best in order to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses from the lab companies.

Imaging orders:

Part of our job is to make sure you are up to date with your screening tests and early detection. In addition, if we need to order more in-depth imaging, we can provide those orders for you to perform at your closest imaging center. We can place orders for tests including thyroid ultrasounds, breast mammography and ultrasounds, bone density (DEXA), ultrasounds, MRIs, and CT scans. We frequently work with SonoHealth, Imaging Healthcare Specialists , Carlsbad Imaging Center (open MRIs) and SimonMed Imaging here in San Diego. If you are out of town or a cash-pay patient, you can search for an imaging center on the RadiologyAssist website for additional imaging options.

Questions/Answers

Nourish Medical Center offers convenient blood draws in-office for $35. Appointments are necessary to ensure adequate time dedicated for your lab tests, possible insurance discussions and test kit explanations.

If you do not live nearby, there may be other options available, including visiting your local LabCorp or Quest for standard lab tests. Mobile phlebotomy services may also be an option when necessary.

Nourish offers shipping for many of our functional test kits for you to complete at home.

For labwork, we have options for every level of insurance coverage and for those who don't have insurance. Insurance may cover some labs and not other labs. We try our best to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses and to help navigate which companies or tests would be best for your unique case and insurance coverage. Please be prepared for your lab appointment by bringing your insurance card and having an understanding of your insurance coverage pertaining to labs. Here are some questions to ask your insurance provider:

1.) What type of plan do you have? (PPO, HMO, High Deductible HSA, Medicare, Medi-Cal)

2.) Will your insurance cover labs ordered by a Naturopathic Doctor?

3.) Are you in-network with Labcorp or Quest?

4.) What is your level of coverage? Are labs covered through in-network labs? Do you have a copay for labs? What is your deductible and have you reached your deductible this year?

Inform our phlebotomist if you have any difficulty with blood draws or a history of dizziness, fainting and any other concerns.

Our phlebotomist has vast experience and will accommodate to any request that you make.

Our phlebotomist will confirm the labs that your doctor requested and proceed to complete some paper work.

For some labs have your insurance card available for us to make a copy.

Your labs can be viewed during or after your follow up consult in your Charm patient portal located HERE. For in-office consults, we often print you a copy of your lab results to take notes on. In urgent cases, you can call our office to review, sign and share your lab results ahead of time but we ask for you to reserve this request for urgent matters only. Sharing your lab results ahead of your scheduled follow up appointment does not provide a full interpretation or treatment plan so we always prefer to have your doctor review these with you.
