Why I became a doctor?
Getting to know people for who they really are at their core is a big interest of mine. I started my journey to become a clinical psychologist, because I love to listen to others and get to the root of problems. Once I found out about Naturopathic medicine, I had a complete re-route in my career path since it encompassed everything I was passionate about and so much more.
As a child I had a variety of health concerns that were left undiagnosed. I finally took matters in my own hands and heavily researched what the underlying cause may be. It took over 10 years, but I was finally able to get the answers I so desperately sought after. By changing my diet and using food and nutrition to heal, it kickstarted a journey for this lifelong passion of health and wellness. I now like to educate others on their own bodies and tailor testing and treatments specifically to them.
I serve as an ally for those on their healthcare journey, truly listening to them about their concerns and working on getting them symptom free once and for all.
What conditions I love to treat:
Skin concerns - acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, hyperpigmentation
Hair loss and hair thinning
PRP microneedling facials, PRP hair restoration treatments
Anything digestive & gut health related - SIBO, bloating, IBS, IBD, candida infections, acid reflux, chronic constipation and diarrhea
EBV and Covid long-haul
Adrenal fatigue
The mind & body connection
Things you may not know about me:
Exercise is a big part of my life & I love being active in the gym and outdoors. Many of my weekends are spent unplugged in nature.
I am an avid traveler - I’ve traveled to over 35 countries and have a constant travel bug for exploring more.
I spent a summer working on an organic farm in the Amazonian region of Ecuador, which sparked my interest for gardening and sustainable living.
Prior to medical school, I used to be a baker at a local San Diego restaurant. Baking is still a passion so I love to make gut healthy recipes - with a possible cookbook on the horizon.
I have been following a plant based diet for 15+ years.
Meditation is my non-negotiable - I meditate daily and often go on silent meditation retreats.
I am very involved in the community, so come say hi if you see me at a yoga class or local farmer’s market.
I love teaching and hosting workshops around town - latest updates found here: https://www.instagram.com/healwithdrdang/
