We are so excited to welcome Dr. Shyamia Stone, ND, MPH to our Nourish Family!

Meet Dr. Stone:

Hi! I'm Dr. Shyamia Stone, ND, MPH, and I am thrilled to have joined the Nourish family of health professionals! Growing up, I was always sensitive to the suffering of others and knew that I was meant to be in a helping profession. I had considered becoming a doctor, but saw many members of my family mistreated by the medical system, and didn't see it truly helping people the way that I felt they needed to be helped. Subsequently, I planned to become a psychologist, and I worked at a non-profit behavioral health organization for a while as a group/individual counselor.

While I was working here, I became frustrated that many individuals’ behavioral concerns were exacerbated by their medications, diet, and lifestyle. I was given the opportunity to start an auricular acupuncture program to help offset some of these concerns but realized the importance of being able to treat the whole person. I knew that I wanted to incorporate natural medicine and eastern philosophies with conventional medicine and psychology, and when a mentor told me about naturopathic medicine, everything made sense. It became clear that this was my purpose, and the reason I had learned and experienced everything that I had, in order to help others.
