Prior to your IV appointment your consent and questionnaire must be completed.
Have a meal. Be sure to have some form of protein with your meal for better blood sugar regulation.
Hydration is key Have 12-16 oz of water prior to your arrival. Feel free to bring a water bottle or beverage of your choice to drink during the IV therapy session.
Feel free to bring a book, iPad or tablet to pass the time during your IV
Your doctor will review the procedure prior to beginning.
We will be inserting a catheter into a vein and this can be a bit uncomfortable.
A flexible catheter will be inserted, if you become dizzy, experience a headache, pain, numbness, tingling, swelling and burning inform your doctor
A door bell will be given so you can alert your doctor of any issues if they are not in the room
After your procedure you may feel more calm, more tired or an immune and energy boost.
You can remove your compression wrap 15-30min after your appointment. If the injection site is still bleeding apply pressure and elevate your arm for 5min.
Bruising may also occur so apply a cold compress to the area.
Have a great meal, lots of hydration and a good nights rest following your IV therapy. Your body was just provided with great nutrients during your IV therapy so lets get you feeling your best.
Your IV nutrient therapy is formulated upon your arrival. Usual administration time is 45 min making the total time range between 60-90 min.
Yes, please follow your doctor's recommendations and take your supplements and medications as prescribed.
If you have a history of difficult blood draws or IV administration, please contact the office or inform your Nourish doctor, and we’ll make sure to prepare you as best we can. It is always advised that you are well hydrated and have eaten a meal prior to your IV. A walk, low resistance weights or warm compress may also help.
Yes! There is a flexible catheter that is used for the infusion so you are able to bend and move your arm to your comfort level. You can also use the restroom if needed. If you bend your arm for an extended amount of time, the IV may slow or stop so let your doctor know and he/she may need to readjust.
Some people feel more energy, some feel consistent energy and some feel more tired after your IV, and this is to be expected. It is advised to not over-commit yourself so you can rest, especially with your first IV. Each IV afterwards, most people feel increased resiliency.

If you are getting a prescribed High Dose Vitamin C IV, a lab test called G6PD is highly recommended before receiving the IV. Think of an IV like a blood draw; you feel a little poke, and afterwards, we insert a soft plastic tube called a catheter for you to receive the fluid from the bag. The entire process should have minimal discomfort and we can make adjustments as needed.
Yes, and often we don’t have to poke you twice to do so. Please let our staff know ahead of your blood draw so we can plan accordingly. Yes, we often can evaluate and use the same arm as your blood draw.
Please let us know if you had a recent infection, switched or started a new medication, taking blood thinners, or diagnosed with heart, liver, kidney, autoimmune disease or cancer.
