Vaccination is an important topic that often raises questions and concerns for parents. Our pediatric-focused naturopathic doctors offer dedicated consultations on childhood vaccines to ensure you feel confident in your choices and have a personalized plan moving forward.

During our vaccine consults, we:

  Review all vaccines on the CDC schedule and highlight those required in California.
  Discuss each vaccine-preventable illness, including its prevalence, severity, risk factors, and the rationale behind the timing of vaccinations.
  Answer all your questions with clear, informed guidance.
  Develop a customized vaccine schedule tailored to your child’s needs, which you can share with their pediatrician.

Additionally, we offer immune support and detox strategies to help your child before and after vaccination. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to make the best decisions for your child’s health.

Yes! While we offer acute care visits for colds, flu, ear infections, and other common illnesses, we do not provide urgent care, emergency services, or weekend availability. Additionally, since we don’t administer vaccines in our office, it’s a good idea to maintain care with a pediatrician.

Our pediatric-focused naturopathic doctors also provide well-child exams and are happy to collaborate with your child’s pediatrician for a comprehensive approach to care.

  You’ll receive an intake and consent form via email. Please complete both forms at least 24 hours before your appointment so your doctor can review your information in advance.
  Bring any past medical lab results to your first appointment, or upload them to your Charm patient portal in the DOCUMENTS section (not the lab section).
  Have all supplements or medications your child is currently taking ready for the doctor’s review.

  Your doctor will take time to discuss your child’s current concerns, past medical history, and any pressing questions
  Necessary lab tests may be recommended to gain further insights into your child’s health.
  A physical exam may be conducted, depending on your child’s needs.
  You’ll leave with a personalized plan that includes high-quality, effective treatments designed to address symptoms and support long-term health.

  Take notes on any progress or new symptoms to discuss during your next visit.
  Prepare a list of questions to ensure all your concerns are addressed.

  Your doctor will check in on your child’s progress and review the initial treatment plan.
Modifications to the plan may be made based on how your child is responding to treatment.

  Emergencies: For any medical emergency, always dial 911 or visit the nearest emergency room or urgent care.
  Acute Health Concerns: If you have an acute condition, call our office to schedule the next available time with a Nourish doctor.
  Non-Urgent Questions: If your question pertains to your previous visit or treatment plan, you can call us during business hours or send a short message through your Patient Portal. We typically respond within two business days.

  Brief Appointments: For quick questions between follow-ups, we offer 5-15 minute appointments (in-person, video, or phone). This allows your doctor time to review your chart and provide thorough answers. Thank you for understanding that long message responses take time away from scheduled patients.

Our wellness visits cover everything you might expect from a conventional pediatrician’s visit, including milestone checks, height and weight measurements, and a full physical exam—with the exception of vaccines. We go beyond the basics by focusing on preventative care. This includes optimizing gut health, diet, and lifestyle, as well as discussing family history and age-related topics like food introduction. By taking this proactive approach, we support your child’s optimal development and overall well-being, helping to prevent issues before they arise rather than simply reacting to them.

We follow the general recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which are as follows:

When your child faces common illnesses like a cold, flu, or ear infection, we are happy to provide supportive care. As naturopathic doctors, we focus on supporting the body’s natural healing process by starting with herbal remedies, nutraceuticals, and other home treatments when possible. However, we can prescribe antibiotics or other medications if necessary.

To book an acute visit for an established patient, please contact our front desk, and we will do our best to schedule your appointment promptly. Please note that we do not provide urgent or emergency services and are closed on weekends. If your child requires more immediate or higher-level care, we recommend visiting an urgent care or emergency department.
