September Updates at Nourish

September is here, the fall is quickly approaching, kids are back to school and we have some updates about life here at Nourish Medical Center.

#1 We now have Naturopathic ACUTE CARE on Thursdays!

Dr. Natasha is opening up her schedule for acute care patients on Thursdays from 9:00am- 12:00pm. We know how difficult it can be to be seen at urgent care, there are often long wait times and increased exposure to even more infections. That’s why we decided to open this slot so you can be seen promptly and have naturopathic options to acute health concerns.

What kind of patients can Dr. Natasha treat?

Most everyone! Dr. Natasha is well-versed in adult and pediatric acute medicine.

Acute care visits can be scheduled for:

  • Colds
  • Coughs
  • Headaches
  • GI symptoms like constipation, diarrhea and vomiting
  • Pain
  • Rashes
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Insomnia
  • Travel questions
  • Allergies and more!

*If you’re experiencing chest pain or shortness of breath call 911 for immediate care.

What treatments can you offer during these visits?

Dr. Natasha has a lot of experience treating acute illness with herbs, supplements, and lifestyle support. Additionally, she can write common prescription medications such as antibiotics when needed.  In addition, Nourish offers Nutrient and Immune IVs on Thursdays that can be very helpful for illness and recovery.

What If I need lab testing?

We offer a variety of in-office testing including Strep, COVID, UTI, anemia, blood sugar testing, STD testing, etc.  Dr. Natasha can also send you out for imaging if necessary (ultrasound, x-ray, etc).

I usually see another doctor at Nourish, can I still schedule an acute visit?

YES!

We advise you first give our front desk a call to see if your established doctor has availability in their schedule. If they don’t, these acute visits can help support you in more urgent scenarios. Once you are established at Nourish, you can schedule a naturopathic acute care visit to focus on your specific and more urgent concern and then follow up as scheduled with your previously established doctor.

Are acute care visits in-person or virtual?

Either! If you are concerned you have COVID or another highly contagious virus such as a stomach virus we will ask you to schedule a virtual visit first.  If you’re busy and can’t get away from your work or family, Dr. Natasha can troubleshoot many concerns via a virtual visit.

Can I use my insurance for the visit?

As always, we can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance.  If you have a HSA or FSA card, you can use those as well.  And if you have PPO insurance, we can try to run certain labs through your insurance.

What if I am going on vacation and need a refill on my prior medication and need it filled faster than usual?

We can generally take care of this for you during this appointment time!

#3 Get your Hormones in Check this Fall!

In addition to the changing weather, our bodies also have unique needs with each season.  It is common to see hormonal, nutritional and immune shifts in the Fall.

We are very happy that Dr. Raquel has joined Nourish Medical Center and she will be offering in-person appointments at Nourish starting September 18th as well as the usual virtual care options. Dr Raquel specializes in hormonal health and is ready to help you get to the root cause of your hormonal imbalances.

Wishing you a safe back to school and fall season! Thank you for being part of this beautiful community.

To your health,
