- Clinical and laboratory testing.
- Nutritional and botanical medicine.
- Dietary recommendations.
- Homeopathy.
- Intravenous and injection therapies.
- Lifestyle modifications and counseling.
Naturopathic doctors seek to address the underlying causes of disease while promoting wellness using safe, effective, and minimally invasive therapies. While they primarily use natural approaches, NDs can also prescribe pharmaceuticals when appropriate, aiming to restore the whole body to optimal health.
Your first visits at Nourish are designed to provide a comprehensive and personalized understanding of your health. Here’s what you can expect:
-
- A thorough review of your medical concerns and lifestyle history.

- Analysis of past lab work and recommendations for new labs if necessary.
- Physical exams, as needed.
- Collaboration on your health goals.
- A detailed explanation of treatment recommendations and a customized
- action plan.

These initial visits take a collaborative approach to uncover the root causes of your health concerns. Together, we’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history, and lab data, enabling us to see the full picture of your health. With so much conflicting information online, we aim to remove the guesswork and provide clear, effective solutions tailored specifically to you.
Complete all questionnaires in the Charm Patient Portal (including the general consent and intake forms) at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Upload any recent labs or imaging (completed within the past year outside of Nourish) to the Documents section in the Charm Patient Portal. Please note that while it may seem intuitive to upload them to the "Labs" section, the Documents section is the correct location. Once uploaded, click the button to share the documents with your provider or Coleen, Dr. Stewart’s assistant, if your provider’s name isn’t listed.

We specialize in working with individuals who are open to natural treatments and value a healthcare partner who listens, understands, and takes a whole-body approach to wellness, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and soul.
Some of our patients face ongoing health challenges, while others are proactive about preventing illness and optimizing their overall well-being. We address a wide range of concerns, including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, menopause, andropause, weight management, and more.
Ultimately, we care for people who want to nurture their bodies and embrace a more compassionate approach to their health. After all, our name says it all—Nourish.
Dr. Stewart is currently not accepting new patients in our traditional flow. However, she is available to see new patients for an initial visit and to establish care at Nourish. After the first visit, Dr. Stewart may collaborate with her associate doctors for follow-up appointments, including lab review and next steps. As you move forward with your follow-up appointments, there will be more availability and ease of scheduling, and you can choose to see either Dr. Stewart or one of her associate doctors, based on your preference.
At Nourish, some of our providers offer free 15-minute consultations to help you determine if we’re the right partner for your healthcare journey. These no-obligation sessions give you the chance to share your health concerns and goals while getting to know your potential doctor.
Consultations are available in person, via video call, or over the phone—whichever option suits you best.

Follow-up visits are essential for monitoring progress and refining your treatment plan. At Nourish, we don’t use one-size-fits-all protocols; instead, we tailor care to your unique needs.
Frequency:
-
- During the initial phase of treatment, visits typically occur every 3-7 weeks.
- Once your symptoms improve and health goals are met, visits may be spaced out to every 3-12 months.
Purpose:
-
- Assess progress and make adjustments to your plan.
- Ensure you’re on track with health goals, screenings, and new tests or treatments.
- Provide support for health as a lifestyle, helping you navigate challenges and opportunities over time.
If you plan to review lab work or imaging, ensure that tests are completed well in advance of your appointment.
-
- For tests done at Nourish, results will be received directly from the lab. Standard lab tests (e.g., LabCorp or Quest) usually return results within a week, while specialty test kits may take 3+ weeks.
If you have documents or results from outside of Nourish, upload them to the Documents section in your Charm Patient Portal and click to share them with your provider or Coleen, Dr. Stewart’s assistant if your provider isn’t listed.

In case of a medical emergency, always call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room or urgent care facility.
At Nourish, our doctors treat non-emergent acute conditions that require timely care but don’t warrant emergency services. These include respiratory issues (e.g., colds, sinus infections, bronchitis), gastrointestinal concerns (e.g., nausea, diarrhea, acid reflux), musculoskeletal complaints (e.g., minor injuries or pain), and skin conditions (e.g., rashes, minor burns, fungal infections). Other common concerns we address include urinary tract infections, mild reproductive health issues, vaginitis, earaches, sore throats, and pink eye.
Additionally, we provide IV therapy for dehydration, immune support, and recovery around infections, medical procedures, or travel.
Naturopathic care at Nourish offers expanded access to acute care, medications, and imaging without placing additional strain on hospital systems.
Medication Refills: Please contact your preferred pharmacy or compounding pharmacy and request they send a refill request to your doctor. Once received, we will electronically process the request and send it back to the pharmacy. To ensure a smooth process, please plan ahead and allow adequate time for completion.
Supplement Refills: For supplements, log into Fullscript to place your order. If you need assistance, our front office team is happy to help and can place the order on Fullscript for you.

At Nourish, we strive to deliver care that blends science, nature, and personalized attention to help you achieve your best health.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to no longer process PAs. Unfortunately, the process of dealing with insurance companies and pharmaceutical providers has become increasingly burdensome, often involving long delays, excessive back-and-forth communication, and multiple denials after considerable effort from both you, our dedicated staff, and your doctor.
Self-Pay Options for Medications:
In addition to navigating insurance and PA processes, we’ve found that many commercial pharmacies do not always mention that patients have the option to self-pay for medications, especially when insurance coverage is delayed or denied. It’s not uncommon for patients to be told that their insurance has denied coverage, or that they are waiting for a PA approval, without being offered the self-pay price. We strongly encourage you to directly ask what the self-pay price is for your medications when you are faced with these situations. Often, the self-pay price can be significantly lower than what you might expect, especially when compared to the costs involved with insurance processing.
In addition to traditional pharmacies, you may want to explore compounding pharmacies or use resources such as GoodRx, Cost Plus, and mail-order pharmacies to find lower-cost alternatives. These options can often provide medications at a fraction of the cost, without the burden of dealing with insurance delays.
If you encounter a high-cost treatment or medication, we kindly encourage you to reach out to your insurance company or pharmacy to explore any available alternatives or generic options. If they suggest alternatives, please bring these options to your next follow-up appointment, and your doctor will be happy to discuss them with you and guide you toward the best possible course of action.

It requires medical practices to explain your rights regarding this information and outline their privacy practices, including those of any independent contractors. For a detailed explanation, you can review our full Notice of Privacy Practices.
California’s Proposition 65 mandates a warning on products containing specific substances, including heavy metals, pesticides, and even natural nutrients like Vitamin A, if they exceed certain levels. Some supplements include this warning because they may contain lead above 0.5 mcg per daily serving, a threshold significantly lower than the FDA’s recommended safe daily intake of 75 mcg.
While lead is harmful, the levels in quality plant-based products are extremely low—less than what’s commonly found in everyday foods like spinach, sweet potatoes, and lettuce, due to the presence of lead in the soil. The State of California clarifies that a Proposition 65 warning doesn’t indicate a safety violation, and our reputable brands and products meet strict purity standards. Rest assured; we prioritize your health with the purest ingredients available.

Lab FAQ
Nourish offers convenient on-site lab services. Blood draws are $35 and available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Nourish Medical Center. Appointments are required to ensure sufficient time for your lab tests, insurance discussions, and test kit explanations.
For patients outside the area, alternative options include visiting LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics for standard lab tests. Mobile phlebotomy services may also be arranged if necessary.
Additionally, many of our functional test kits can be shipped to you for completion at home.
Think of your Nourish doctor as your personal health detective. Labs and functional tests provide insights into your health, uncovering imbalances and identifying root causes of symptoms. They also allow us to prioritize concerns and work proactively to optimize your well-being.
We offer a wide range of testing, including:
- Diagnostic testing
- Energy and nutrient assessments
- Toxin and liver function panels
- Inflammation and pain marker
- Digestion, microbiome, and autoimmune testing
- Thyroid, adrenal, and hormone evaluations
- Weight loss, blood sugar, and metabolism testing
- Allergy and food sensitivity testing

A Note on Lab Costs:
- We work diligently to minimize your out-of-pocket lab expenses. Our team identifies which tests may be covered by insurance and ensures the most reliable results. Over the years, we’ve refined this process to give you options and exceptional value. Lab testing, paired with a personalized review by your doctor, is a powerful tool for addressing and resolving health concerns.
We offer options for all levels of insurance coverage, including patients without insurance. While some labs may be covered, others may not. Our team works to minimize your out-of-pocket costs by helping you navigate which tests align best with your insurance plan and specific needs.
Before your lab appointment, please bring your insurance card and familiarize yourself with your coverage. Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:
- What type of plan do I have? (e.g., PPO, HMO, High Deductible HSA, Medicare, Medi-Cal)
- Will my insurance cover labs ordered by a Naturopathic Doctor?
- Am I in-network with LabCorp or Quest?
- What is my lab coverage level? Does it include in-network labs? Is there a copay for labs? What is my deductible, and have I met it this year?
A Note on Lab Costs
We diligently minimize your lab-related expenses. Our team identifies the most reliable and cost-effective tests covered by insurance. Lab testing, paired with personalized analysis from your doctor, is a powerful tool for uncovering root causes of health concerns and optimizing well-being.
Stay hydrated.
If fasting labs are required, avoid food for 8-12 hours before your appointment (water is fine).
If you take thyroid medication, postpone taking it until after your blood draw, as it may elevate fT3 levels.
Inform the phlebotomist if you have any history of difficulty with blood draws, dizziness, or fainting.
Our experienced phlebotomist will confirm your requested labs and guide you through the process.
Be prepared to provide your insurance card for any required documentation.
How will I receive my lab results?
At Nourish, we ensure you're actively involved in your health journey. Rather than offering a simple "everything looks fine" response, we:
Explain each test and share results with reference and optimal ranges.
Analyze results beyond identifying disease to promote optimal health and function.
Your labs can be viewed in your Charm portal during or after your follow-up consult. For in-office consults, we often provide printed results for note-taking.
For urgent matters, you can request early access to your lab results by calling the office. However, this does not include a full interpretation or treatment plan. We strongly encourage reviewing your results with your doctor during your follow-up visit for the most comprehensive care.
Lab tests serve as a vital tool for uncovering imbalances and understanding root causes of symptoms. They offer objective insights into your health, providing a clear baseline of your biochemistry. This information helps us address deficiencies, prioritize concerns, and develop personalized treatment plans to improve both current symptoms and long-term health.
Before the Appointment:
Prepare your child by explaining what to expect. Every child has different experiences with blood draws, and your preparation can help ease any anxiety.
During the Appointment:
Our friendly and experienced phlebotomist works efficiently with children to ensure a smooth process. You may be asked to complete lab paperwork and provide your insurance card for necessary documentation.
After the Appointment:
Your child may experience slight pain or bruising at the draw site, which should resolve within 24 hours. Lab results will be reviewed with your doctor during the follow-up appointment.

Yes! While we offer acute care visits for colds, flu, ear infections, and other common illnesses, we do not provide urgent care, emergency services, or weekend availability. Additionally, since we don’t administer vaccines in our office, it’s a good idea to maintain care with a pediatrician.
Dr. Natasha and Dr. Jordi also provide well-child exams and are happy to collaborate with your child’s pediatrician for a comprehensive approach to care.
You’ll receive an intake and consent form via email. Please complete both forms at least 24 hours before your appointment so your doctor can review your information in advance.
Bring any past medical lab results to your first appointment, or upload them to your Charm patient portal in the DOCUMENTS section (not the lab section).
Have all supplements or medications your child is currently taking ready for the doctor’s review.
Your doctor will take time to discuss your child’s current concerns, past medical history, and any pressing questions
Necessary lab tests may be recommended to gain further insights into your child’s health.
A physical exam may be conducted, depending on your child’s needs.
You’ll leave with a personalized plan that includes high-quality, effective treatments designed to address symptoms and support long-term health.
Take notes on any progress or new symptoms to discuss during your next visit.

We go beyond the basics by focusing on preventative care. This includes optimizing gut health, diet, and lifestyle, as well as discussing family history and age-related topics like food introduction. By taking this proactive approach, we support your child’s optimal development and overall well-being, helping to prevent issues before they arise rather than simply reacting to them.

When your child faces common illnesses like a cold, flu, or ear infection, we are happy to provide supportive care. As naturopathic doctors, we focus on supporting the body’s natural healing process by starting with herbal remedies, nutraceuticals, and other home treatments when possible. However, we can prescribe antibiotics or other medications if necessary.
To book an acute visit for an established patient, please contact our front desk, and we will do our best to schedule your appointment promptly. Please note that we do not provide urgent or emergency services and are closed on weekends. If your child requires more immediate or higher-level care, we recommend visiting an urgent care or emergency department.

If you have a history of challenging blood draws or IV insertions, please inform your Nourish doctor ahead of time. Staying well-hydrated and eating before your appointment helps, and a warm compress or light physical activity can improve vein access.
Yes! The catheter used for the infusion is flexible, allowing you to move your arm comfortably. You can also use the restroom if needed. If you bend your arm for an extended time, the IV may slow or stop, so let your doctor know if adjustments are needed.
Results can vary: some people feel more energetic, others may feel relaxed or tired. For your first session, it’s advised to take it easy and rest. After subsequent sessions, many feel increased resilience and energy.
We recommend basic lab work within the past year to assess kidney and liver function. If you’re receiving a High Dose Vitamin C IV, a G6PD test is highly recommended. To personalize your nutrient therapy, a Micronutrient blood test can help identify deficiencies.
Receiving the IV is similar to a blood draw: you’ll feel a small poke, and a soft catheter will be inserted for the infusion. The process is generally low in discomfort, and adjustments can be made if needed.
Yes, we can often combine the two procedures and may use the same arm for both. Let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly and avoid unnecessary pokes.
Please notify us if you’ve had a recent infection, started new medications, or have a history of heart, liver, kidney, autoimmune diseases, or cancer.
It is generally best to start with a Classic Nourish IV to provide the foundational nutrients for increased tolerance to IV therapy. These nutrients and cofactors help stabilize the overall terrain for best outcomes. If you are generally sensitive to sulfur (onions, garlic, red wine) or have a known SUOX genetic mutation, it may be recommended to take Molybdenum prior to your glutathione IV. In addition, it may be a good idea to test your G6PD and/or methylation status before starting or restarting an IV protocol.
IV therapy supports mitochondrial function, promotes healthy aging, and enhances overall wellness. Key lab markers include reducing inflammation, normalizing anemia, and supporting mitochondria and glutathione levels, aiming for an LDH under 175 and a GGT under 15. If your levels fall outside these ranges, consult with your Nourish doctor to determine if IV therapy is a beneficial adjunctive treatment for you.
Before: Complete consent and questionnaire.
During: The injection will be prepared on arrival, and the site will be cleaned. Relax the muscle being injected to minimize discomfort.
After: Expect possible fatigue or energy boost. Bruising may occur, and a cold compress can help. Schedule follow-ups or labs as recommended, and feel free to contact our office with any questions.

Stop taking any NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) 3-5 days before your procedure.
Ensure you eat and stay hydrated on the day of your procedure.
- Review and Questions: Your doctor will review your medical history, lab results, and imaging, and explain the procedure, including risks and benefits. You’ll have the chance to ask questions.
- Preparation: You’ll be made comfortable on the treatment table, and the necessary supplies will be prepared. The injection sites will be thoroughly cleaned using aseptic techniques.
- Numbing and Injection: A mild topical numbing agent may be applied for your comfort. The treatment will be injected at the targeted sites, often with ultrasound guidance for accuracy.
- During the Procedure: Your doctor will be with you throughout the procedure. Please inform the team if you experience discomfort or any concerning reactions.
Post-Treatment: The injection sites will be cleaned and covered.
You’ll be asked to stay in the office for 10-20 minutes post-procedure to ensure you feel stable and comfortable before leaving.
Avoid NSAIDs (e.g., Aleve, Advil, Motrin, Naprosyn, Aspirin) after your treatment. Tylenol is acceptable for pain relief. You can resume any daily supplements after the procedure.
Avoid submerging the treated area or joint in water for 24-48 hours post-procedure.
Mild bruising near the injection sites is normal. Applying Arnica or Traumeel every 4-6 hours can help with recovery.
If bruising doesn’t improve or if you have any concerns, contact your doctor. Regenerative Injection Therapy is designed to provide long-lasting pain relief. While pain relief isn’t always guaranteed, many patients experience significant improvement after 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For more severe conditions, additional treatments may be necessary. Remember, each session builds on the previous one, so timely follow-up is key to continued progress.
If you experience tenderness, pain, or discomfort at the injection site:
Apply ice for 1-2 minutes, no more than 20 minutes, every 2-3 hours.
Heat (e.g., heating pad, hot compress, or red light therapy) can help with soreness.
Pain at the injection site can last for up to 7 days or longer.
You may take Tylenol, CBD, Traumeel, arnica, fish oil, or other approved pain relief options.
Cautions:
Contact our office or visit urgent care or the emergency room if you experience:
Drainage, redness, swelling, or heat at the injection site (with or without a fever).
Inability to move or flex the joint due to pain.
Severe or persistent pain.
Shortness of breath, hives, itching, severe headaches, nausea, or severe neck pain.
Any unexpected or unusual side effects.
Avoid intense activity for 2-4 weeks or until cleared by your doctor at your follow-up appointment.
Gentle movement and exercise are encouraged! Once tolerated, you can resume normal activities.
Avoid high-impact or strenuous exercise on the treated areas until cleared by your doctor.
Hydrate well following your treatment to enhance tissue flexibility and nourish cells.
If receiving manipulation treatments (e.g., by a D.O. or Chiropractor), avoid forceful manipulation until fully recovered.
If areas of weakness are found, a physical therapy or exercise program may be prescribed to strengthen the area.
